The Runsip® Lid has two positions so that it can be applied to a cup with one hand. The lid has a drinking position and an inverted position.

The Runsip® lid will be in the Drinking Position when attached to a cup, and when tucked into your waistband while running.

The lid will be in the Inverted Position before attaching it to a cup.  Do not leave the Runsip® lid in the Inverted Position for more than a few minutes.

1. Flip

Remove your Runsip® lid from your waistband, and place your fingers and thumbs as seen here. Flip your fingers out as you pivot your thumbs inward.

Before the starting the flipping motion it is best to fan your fingers out on the inside edge of the cuff.

While flipping and pivoting, use your index fingers and little fingers to flip the shorter sides of the cuff as a part of the same motion.

2. Grip

Insert your fingers between the cuff and the spout, and place your thumb inside the cuff at the opposite end. Position the Runsip® lid over a cup and press down to create a seal.

Position your fingers and thumb inside the cuff before you approach a race aid station.

Don’t use too much pressure when pressing the Runsip® lid down on the rim of the cup. This will make the snapping of the cuff down and around the cup more difficult.

3. Snap

Extend your thumb outward to snap the non-spout side down and around the cup. Wait a moment for that side to attach to the cup. Press your fingertips down onto the lid surface, and pivot your fingers forward to snap the cuff around the cup.  

Once the Runsip® lid is attached, press the outer edges of the lid down with even pressure. This will improve the seal because there is a small notch that the rim of the cup fits into.

4. Sip

Drink at your own pace. Separate the lid from the cup. Discard the cup (appropriately, if possible). Tuck the Runsip® lid back into your waistband in the Drinking Position. Run your race. Repeat.
